COURSE DESCRIPTION
Practical experience that integrates theory and practice
together with fall courses. The goal and learning
objectives are oriented to the performance of basic OT
skills. The student is expected to participate in level
appropriate tasks; Observation alone does not fulfill the
requirements.
Prerequisite:
attendance at Fieldwork Information Session in the fall.
GOAL STATEMENT
This Level I fieldwork experience will provide students with the
opportunity to discover their own strengths and weaknesses,
to discover information and to discuss the role of
occupational therapists. This process allows students to
apply academic concepts and professional skills in a
practical setting with maximum supervision.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the
end of this placement students will be able to:

There are two placements for Level 2 fieldwork.
In addition to the 300 hours of
fieldwork in this first level 2 placement, students will be
expected to reflect on their fieldwork experience and to gather
together any relevant information and material identified in
Year 3 winter term.

agencies. Prerequisites: Consent of Department, attendance
at Professional Development Seminar and completion of OCCTH
524 and Year 3 academic courses.
GOAL STATEMENT
Students will actively participate in and apply academic
concepts and professional skills in a practical setting with
moderate supervision. Students will pursue own learning and
growth by addressing previously identified challenge areas,
and practice communicating in a professional and appropriate
manner.

expected to perform with minimal supervision close to the
level of a graduate entry-level therapist.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course students must be able to:
1. display knowledge, skills and attitudes of an
entry-level new graduate (as identified by the CAOT profile)
2. maintain and develop skills achieved in OCCTH 324, 328,

OCCTH 413 is a course designed to allow undergraduates
to pursue the practical application of occupational therapy techniques in
specialized settings. This course is extra to the requirements of the BScOT
degree, and may not be used for credit as an elective or to replace other
