The Psychology Department at F.S.C.C. employs three charted psychologists, an administrative assistant, and for the past several years, full time psychology intern students through the University of Alberta Psychology Internship Program.

Together, the Psychology department takes on many important roles and tasks at F.S.C.C.  Some of these include:

  •    Responding to inmate requests and staff referrals

  •    Psychological testing and assessments

  •    Individual and group psychotherapy

  •    Staff consultations and training

  •    Facilitation of psycho-educational programs (Please see the Programs link above)

The department also plays a key role in the Corrections to Community Program.  This is a transitional support program for Aboriginal offenders leaving the corrections environment and returning to the community.  Please see the C2C link above.
