| Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder “Firestarter” is a Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder Awareness program that is regularly presented at the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre, which was created by the 2003-2004 University of Alberta Psychology Intern, Kendra Peleshok and updated by the 2008-2009 intern Timothae Lundago. It was developed for the purpose of educating low functioning and low literacy adults, including those who suffer from FASD symptoms. It is a PowerPoint presentation that includes bright colors, bold graphics, and encourages interaction within the group. It focuses on providing the participants with a basic understanding of the common symptoms and characteristics associated with FASD, and effective strategies for helping those who are affected by FASD.
